Designer knockoffs in less than luxurious fabrics are fine if you think plagiary is an ethical thing but if you value creativity and good fabric, you understand the lure of the high-end designer label. But to know the difference you can't just look at photos in magazines - you have to get out there and touch it all. Does a lot of the Marc Jacobs stuff look like cute vintage? Yes, it often does but his fabrics feel a gazillion times better than anything made by Mr. Dino. Is ABS the same as Valentino? Hardly. The cheaper labels are cheaper because they have to budget themselves on fabric and that's really all that matters after fit. We won't even go into the speech about not being the creative genius behind the original design. If it feels bad against your skin, it's garbage. So when you speak of vintage Valentino, it's not great because Julia Roberts once wore it to the Oscars; it's great because it feels incredible - it was made for rich women who know cashmere from acrylic. A heathered pistachio wool jersey dress that has been left intentionally unlined because the fabric is so good. With flecks of purple through the green, it has that heathered effect. A jewel neckline trimmed in braided wool jersey that repeats again over each breast, like a pocket cuff, and vertically down the skirt. Hangs and drapes much like a vintage Donna Karan dress and is constructed with an internal belt for a perfect fit. Buttons to the waist in back and comes with a matching covered jersey 2" wide belt. Bust measures 38", shoulder to shoulder 17", outer sleeve 25", waist 29" and length 43.5". Excellent condition. If there are any questions, please do not hesitate to let me know. I am always happy to help.
